LAMBERT
CHAPTER 2

The night was not so long. Yet, even through her sleep, Gwyn does not feel rested. It is not that she had not slept, for she slept well, it is something else. Feeling the sun, listening to the sounds, and smelling the rich aromas surrounding her, she knows that it is a new day.

Life for some is like a butterfly, lithely dancing and floating among flowers and the brightly shining sky. Each day, each moment of life, is new for Gwyn. She has seldom thought otherwise. This day is no different from any of her others. However, stretching and preparing to move about, she cannot help thinking that there is something unusual this morning.

Last night is like a dream to Gwyn. She can only remember very tiny bits and pieces. Even so, as these little fragments of her memory dance throughout her head, she knows that something special happen last night. Without any thought, and fully uncaring about anything, she jumps from her bed and begins dancing about her room, holding her pillow close. The fresh breeze bellowing in though her window presses past her hair, as she continues to swirl and spin.

Lastly, looking deeply into her looking glass, she imagines her flowing gown jumping alive with her motions. This is something that Gwyn has always possessed, a vivid and wild imagination. She has seen herself in many places and many times, all lost in her mind. Unlike many, she has found a place where she is happy, a place in her mind that is hers and hers alone.

Resting now, lost in thought, Gwyn smiles out into the sun. She does not understand why she is so happy, and really does not care. She is content to feel what she feels. Finally ready and distractedly putting aside her morning dreaming, she prepares for her day. There is not really much she had to prepare for, but as is her habit, she prepares for her day. Today though, envisioning the smell the sea and the crashing of the waves, is the day that she can finally go out. This day, a day that she has been awaiting, is here at last.
